The Basics of Moving Office Furnitures

March 3rd, 2007

Moving may either be a key for your office or it may not. Sometimes, this can give you the chance to branch out and explore your office’s resources further. But then again, with moving comes the definite problem of issues such as, delivery, installation…but primarily, how should you go about removing the office furnitures? Moving all the important pieces such as office desks, office chairs, and equipment can be a pretty tedious task. You will want to keep an eye on the movers and you will want to be hands-on with all the operations involved. Hence, get to know the basics of moving and removing office furnitures.

Plan ahead. Nothing backfires with a good head start. Acquire all materials that you need such as tapes, boxes, or ropes, or wrap stuff up with newspapers if you do not want the bubble wrap. Make the necessary arrangements with a delivery/trucking service agents ahead to avoid any unnecessary confusion. Allot a good month ahead or so to get these things done. If you plan to move to another city, try contacting airlines to help you with the office furnitures.

After preparations are settled, look for a furniture removal company. Canvass different companies because their service pay may vary. It is important to ask your office furniture retailer for any helpful instruction about moving the pieces you have bought. If for instance, they could install them again in your new office, or what about warranties now that you have moved to another place, stuff like that. Make sure that you have contacted all your clients too or post a good notice that your office will be moving to another location.

When you have these things ready, then you are good to go. In case you find the need to acquire additional pieces, contact a retailer and have the ordered pieces to be delivered in the location before you move in.
