Avoiding Office Clutters-I

February 23rd, 2007

Offices naturally have that aura of being all busy and hectic. Take note for instance of the office desks. You would think that the most busy employee is the one with the most cluttered office desk. But then again, maybe he just do not know how to organize his things. Clutters everywhere mean that you have only little time to spare—and that will definitely not be wasted on arranging all your files, or clearing your desk.

If you are the worker that has all the faxed messages piled on the desk, while sticky notes are being placed virtually everywhere to remind you to do some important tasks, or worse, if you lose every file under a big mess of papers—stop there, you can do better. Do not add up to the stress that you are encountering everyday by putting some unnecessary objects on the desk. Just look at one of today’s most prominent magazine editors, as she is now ready to transform her workstation into a more efficient, productive environment.

She spends everyday of her life in her office, doing a really stressful stuff which is to edit—so how can she stand all the mess and clutter? The office serves as her second home as well so she has to be comfortable in her station. This is not just about ergonomic office furnitures, but about her organization too. Good thing, she consulted with a designer to solve all her dilemmas.

Interior designer Christopher Lowell then assessed our editor, and he managed to solve her typical employee dilemma of organization. “Today, it’s really about embracing technology and ridding yourself of items you never use] that take up way too much space,” says Lowell. He and his team placed items that the editor used often “at her fingertips.” Gone were the bulky office desks and credenza, supplanted with pieces from the designer’s own choice of office furniture.

It’s all about organization indeed, but it would not hurt to get a little help with office essentials such as a desk with drawers, cabinets, etc.
